labor day weekend fun!

We love when Daddy gets a long weekend! & this weekend was no exception.

We spent Friday at the zoo! Cooper loved it! He is a big animal fan, especially of monkeys!

He was making the monkey sound all day!

Nick had even more fun than Cooper I think! haha.

 Nick cooked us a yummy little Labor Day Dinner! We're so lucky!:)

& we finished the weekend off laying low. I'm so excited for fall & felt it was necessary to burn a little fall candle! Nothing better!

What Cooper Wore + Our Day!

Oh little boys! Shopping for them can be a bit more of a chore than for little girls. It seems like every store is 80% ruffles & pink & 20% & in the far corner are some little boy clothes! 

But if you look hard enough you can find some really cute boy things!

Coopy had his 1 year Well Baby. He was too busy with the paper to look at me! 

I gave him a smoothie pouch to snack on the way home. I instantly regretted that when I heard some banging.

Yep, he was banging the heck out of that pouch & it was everywhere! 

You can't really tell from the picture but it was all over his arms, bib, seat, my seats, you name it! 

Got a little workout in with Poppy!

My dad is working on a little garage gym so of course we had to get Coop some dumbells & a kettle bell (from zulily)! They have a weight bench to that we will probably have to get! 

Passed out on mommy! This one was from the other day, but it was such a sweet moment! We were watching some cartoons on Netflix and I felt him fall over on me. He was so tired & couldn't hang on!

Oh, Happy Week!

This week was the busiest week we've had since I graduated! It's been a lot of sitting around trying to find things we could do. 

But this week, Nick got to come home for Memorial Weekend, we had Cooper's party, I started Kaplan NCLEX review, & we went to the city to help move my sister into her apartment. 

So we kept busy! But there's always time for a little fun! 

Here is how I spent most of my week. Awesome, I know. 6 hours from Tuesday-Friday of nothing but NCLEX questions. I better pass the boards! 

We got a little chocolate wasted. We had 2 chocolate milks & then Poppy took him to get a chocolate milk shake. He was a happy boy! And then.....

We passed out! He laid here for about 20 minutes, not moving a muscle. I figured it was bath time! 

Just some nice morning coffee on the patio! This is my favorite part of the day.

 Some nice quality time on the trampoline! He would spend hours on here, & sometimes we do! 

He watched Uncle D mow the lawn, & wave every time he'd pass. I told him he'd be doing that in a few weeks when we move!

Now we're home & hopefully to be back in a little bit of our groove! We have lots of packing & preparing for a garage sale in our future. 

Can't wait to enjoy the summer days ahead! 

Picnic Fun, Cooper is ONE!

This weekend was the big weekend, Cooper's first birthday party! 

And let me just say, I'm never throwing another party! It's dinner & cake for every birthday!

I'm only kidding! But I seriously thought my very un-crafty self would throw this perfect birthday party & it would be simple! Boy was I wrong! 

Parties are hard work! No wonder party planning is a successful business! 

Regardless of whether the decorations were perfect or not, it ended up being a perfect celebration for Cooper's first year of life!

I'm sad the weekend is over.

Nick went back to Georgia & all our family went back home & I start my board review coarse tomorrow. 

But we certainly had a great & memorable time!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY COOPER!

I can't believe it's been one whole year! I can remember it just like it was yesterday. 

On this day a year ago, I was packing up some last minute things & trying to make sure our room was perfect! I was so nervous, but so excited! I was induced a few weeks early due to my blood pressure getting high. But I luckily never developed pre-eclampsia! 

It was God. He had kept me healthy as could be my entire pregnancy, & it wasn't until a week after finals that my blood pressure got high. He was watching over us so I could finish the year strong! 

It just happened to be a stormy day & we spent a few hours in a basement due to tornadoes! So that helped keep my mind of things, a little bit! 

But I still couldn't sleep, I was too excited! 

Our day started at 4:30AM. We got to the hospital, checked in, signed our lives away, the fetal monitors were hooked up, & in came the IV. 

It was all the waiting game from then.

We waited all day! Luckily, my family was there to keep me company. They said I should rest, but yeah right!  

6:21PM Cooper entered our world. It was a rough two hours of getting him there, but there he was my healthy baby boy! 

He weighed 6 lbs. 11 oz. & 21 in. We were sure he would weigh more, I was so big! He was so perfect! 

Happy Birthday Baby Boy, Mommy loves you more than you'll ever know. I cannot wait to watch you grow & learn for years to come. You will probably hate me at times, love me at times, & just want me to leave you alone. But through it all, my love for you will never change.
